HOW TO GET INVOLVED

The Expect Respect Campaign is a unique partnership between campus administrators and students to unify the university community. Our goal is to promote awareness and understanding among diverse groups of people, cultures and organizations and of their beliefs and ideas. Over time we hope to create a more respectful and engaged campus community that grows to appreciate and celebrate our similarities and respects our differences.

Students are invited to stop the Student Expect Respect table at Festifall, September 7th on the Diag or e-mail ERCcore@umich.edu.

In addition, students are encouraged to review the reading list in the Resources section. It has been provided by The Program on Intergroup Relations which will from time to time, host discussion groups at the Trotter Multi Cultural Center. The first discussion will focus on "Socialization: Gaining Messages through Textbooks and the Media" to be held on Wednesday, September 20 in 3rd Floor Student Lounge of Trotterhouse.

The Dean of Students Office also solicits ideas on how best to involve the campus community in the initiative. It welcomes ideas that community members at large might have on ways to create a more inclusive environment. Resources and events will continue to be posted to this Website Calendar.
